The Spirit of Survival Marathon is the first and only certified and sanctioned running event held at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.
This 60,000 acre wildlife preserve was set aside as a National Forest in 1901 and is ranked among the oldest mountain ranges on earth.
