We’re so excited for SOS 2019 to kick-off! We know our runners always have a few questions before race day, so we decided to dedicate our final blog of the season to answer many of the questions we frequently get from our participants.
Packet Pick Up
You can pick up your packet, t-shirt and any additional SOS gear that you purchased at the Cancer Centers in Lawton on Friday and Saturday (October 4th and 5th). On Race Day, you can pick up your packet on site. If you need to pick up someone else’s packet, you must provide us with a copy of their photo ID and have them complete the Packet Pickup Authorization Form in order for us to give you their packet. Without the completed form and a copy of the participant’s ID card, Spirit of Survival Staff cannot legally release your race packet to another individual. This applies to spouses and adult family members as well.
If you miss registration, you can register for any of our events on-site this weekend! You can also pick up your registration packet at Elmer Thomas Park or the Cancer Centers this weekend depending on the time. Check out our registration page to see the schedule.
Participants Who Cannot Attend
Registration fees are nonrefundable, but they are transferable if done before the event date. If you need to transfer your registration, send us a message by visiting our contact page or Facebook page, and we will get you in touch with our race director.
Race Weekend Schedule
You can find the SOS schedule here on our website.
Children do not have to run in the children’s marathon. There is no age limit for the Quarter Marathon or 5K, as long as there is parental consent. Each entrant under 18 years of age must have a release signed by their parent or guardian.
All parents can run/walk with their child(ren) anytime during the Kids’ Marathon. If you would like a t-shirt and giveaways, you must register as an Adult Participant. If you would like to forgo the participant t-shirt, you may walk/run with your child(ren) free of charge.
Parents or guardians are also welcome to bring strollers for young children. Only racing approved strollers will be allowed.
Animals at the Race
For safety reasons, we can’t allow any animals on the course (with the exception of service animals).
There will be porta-potties at every Aid Station, every mile on the course and several at the Start/Finish line.
If you want to volunteer at the race, we thank you! We could not do it without you! Please sign up to work the time of your choice, here.
If you waited until the last minute to book your accommodations, don’t delay! Give our host hotel a call!
