The SOS Partners are organizations and groups whose involvement has been necessary for the Spirit of Survival to exist. Please meet the partners behind the SOS: ![]() The Spirit of Survival Marathon was created as an ongoing fundraising initiative to benefit The Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma (CCSWOK). CCSWOK is a joint venture of three not-for-profit hospitals: Comanche County Memorial Hospital, Lawton, Duncan Regional Hospital, Duncan and Jackson County Memorial Hospital, Altus who have joined forces to build three new state-of-the-art cancer treatment facilities in Southwest Oklahoma. Their goal is to enhance cancer services currently being offered in Lawton in the convenience of one location and make it possible for people in rural Southwest Oklahoma to be able to access cancer care closer to home in two new locations. The completion of these new centers will save lives and enhance the quality and quantity of life for many in Southwest Oklahoma. ![]() Comanche County Memorial Hospital is a partner in the Southwest Oklahoma Cancer Centers joint venture. ![]() Duncan Regional Hospital is a partner in the Southwest Oklahoma Cancer Centers joint venture. ![]() Jackson County Memorial Hospital is a partner in the Southwest Oklahoma Cancer Centers joint venture.
![]() The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is one of over 540 US Wildlife Refuges in the United States. We are grateful to the US Department of the Interior and the US Fish and Wildlife Service who have been gracious in granting us permission to experience the splendor of this wildlife sanctuary, allowing us to observe and experience nature while participating in a healthy and rewarding recreational activity. By allowing a race on wildlife property, it will encourage many runners, who may not otherwise visit our nation’s refuges, to discover and appreciate the beauty of our natural resources. ![]() Nestled in the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, historic Medicine Park was Oklahoma’s first resort town, and still is the only cobblestone community in the State. Teeming with natural beauty, history and mystique, Medicine Park today, is home to many talented artists who have transplanted from around the nation to call Medicine Park home, and become "Parkies". Named for the "healing powers" believed to be present in the waters of Medicine Creek, we believe there could be no more appropriate location for an event whose purpose is to support hope and healing for those with cancer. We are most grateful to this thriving artists metropolis, for opening their town and their hearts to the Spirit of Survival. |
